Bones

hallow hopes
with brittle bones
whittled whispers
of secret moans
come to slither
up the tender cord
like a book unread,
we'll never know the ending
of what we could've been
because you closed the cover shut
before we even got
to the good part
and it hurts to know
that you'll never even take
a second look at this novel
for the rest of your life
and i lie here
sulking,ripping through the pagers
reminding myself once again
how our journey
came to an abrupt
halt.

and some might even say she's caught between who she is and who she wants to be.

but it's like
her trickling whims
her soul seeking limbs
her capturing eyes
her unveiling disguise
was enough
to have me defied
in the midnight lights
of fading summer fun
she saw his face
through the mists
of tired breath
from inconsistent lungs
but he was crumbling
gradually disappearing
to the oppositional tide
rolling into the hottest moments.
